I texted Bridget today, asking what tonight’s memory verse was. She wrote back “Eph 4:3a.” I thought to myself, “Well, that’s odd since I thought we were doing the “one another’s” and Ephesians 4:2b says, “…bearing with one another in love…” maybe she meant that one.” So, I came prepared to talk about that at memory verse time.
Well, imagine when I saw in the song list that tonight’s memory verse was Eph 4:32. Oh, it made sense. Yet, what is soooooo good is that tonight we went through the book of Philemon. Paul’s appeal to Philemon was that he would receive back and forgive his runaway slave Onesimus, now a Christian and a useful, profitable servant for the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul was basically saying to Philemon, “Phil, regarding Onesimus, I appeal to you to read my letter to the church at Ephesus, chapter 4, verse 32. I appeal to you to do the right thing and prove your love and faith in the Lord Jesus (Phm 1:5).”
Who else but God could so wonderfully arrange little things like this?
